'Great Year' For San Dieguito River Valley: Photos Of The Week
Despite COVID-19, local birds, plants and animals thrived with aid from SDRVC & volunteers.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Despite COVID-19 challenges, the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy reports "a great year," having tallied 150 or so conservation and education events, $84,900 in fundraising, a $75,900 grant and $362,000 in total donations, along with strengthening more than 50 conservation partnerships.
“While 2020 has been a year many of us would like to forget, the SDRVC has been adapting and thriving, just like the habitat we are determined to protect," Nate Northup, SDRVC president said. "The Covid-19 pandemic drove us indoors. During the spring and during their alone time, birds, plants and animals of the river valley proliferated So did the work product of the SDRVC staff.”
Even with the global pandemic, SDRVC works to get the community enthused about the natural wonders of the river valley. Check out a few photos from past events, including the Coast to Crest Trail Challenge and Valentines on Volcan. To learn more or get involved with the SDRVC, follow this link.
