Group-Home Resident Dies From Brawl Injuries: Police
The 59-year-old was found unconscious last week on the San Diego center's patio after fight with another tenant, officials said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – The resident of an Alta Vista-area group home who was hospitalized after a fight with a fellow tenant at the facility has died, police said Sunday.
The man, 59-year-old Philip Muse, was found unconscious by police officers on a rear patio of an independent-living center in the 5700 block of Mariposa Place after a physical altercation was reported there at 8:45 a.m. Thursday.
Muse, whose body bore no signs of obvious major trauma, was admitted to a hospital in critical condition and was not expected to survive, and he was pronounced dead Sunday, San Diego police Lt. Anthony Dupree said.

The cause of his severe health crisis was not immediately clear.
"Out of an abundance of caution, the San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit was called to the scene," Dupree said. "(Detectives) are currently investigating this incident as a suspicious death."

Prior to the fight, Muse allegedly had assaulted an employee of the group home, the lieutenant said.
