Halloween Spooktacular​ Kicks Off At SeaWorld San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — Kids can get an early start to trick-or-treating and other fall festivities at SeaWorld San Diego.

SeaWorld kicked off its annual Halloween Spooktacular Friday at the San Diego theme park. The family-friendly event will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 29.

Halloween Spooktacular features a dance party, hay maze, pumpkin scavenger hunt, trick-or-treating and more.

This year's festivities also include the all-new O.P. Otter's Spooktacular Surprise, playing at Mission Bay Theater. Trickster O.P. Otter and his friends will gather for a Halloween costume party and celebrate fun fall traditions through song and dance.

  • Trick-or-Treat Candy Trail: Children are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat for candy and snacks along the theme park's trick-or-treat candy trail. A SeaWorld trick-or-trick bag is required to participate in trick-or-treating and will be available for purchase.
  • Halloween Dance Party: Join a cast of silly characters for a Halloween dance party featuring popular Halloween-themed songs and family-friendly games such as freeze dance and limbo.
  • Hay Maze: Wander through a festive hay maze and meet some fall characters along the way.
  • Spooktacular Pumpkin Hunt: Participate in a pumpkin hunt throughout the park. A map can be purchased at the SeaWorld Store. Participants can exchange the completed map for a special prize.
  • Halloween Mermaids: Meet and take photos with Halloween mermaids throughout the candy trail.

Halloween Spooktacular will also include the celebration of the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos from Nov. 3-5. The celebration will include Catrina statues and ofrendas, or offerings, of flowers and mementos honoring loved ones who have died.
