Hauser Fire Evacuation Warning Lifted
The brush fire burned 20 acres, threatening power lines Saturday. Firefighters were able to get the upper hand on the blaze.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Evacuation warnings were lifted Saturday night after a vegetation fire scorched about 20 acres in the Tecate area near Hauser Canyon.
Cal Fire San Diego was called to the scene of the blaze near Big Potrero Truck Trail in the Hauser Creek area of Lake Morena at about 4 p.m. Saturday. At that point, the blaze dubbed the Hauser Fire had burned about five to 10 acres, burning at moderate speed, according to Cal Fire.
The fire briefly threatened the community in the Hauser Creek area as the blaze raced uphill and threatened power lines. The San Diego Sheriff's Department had issued an evacuation warning for residents west or north of Buckman Springs Road at Lake Morena Drive. An evacuation center was established at Mountain Empire High School, 3305 Buckman Springs Road in Pine Valley. The sheriff's department asked area residents to avoid Lake Morena Drive.

Authorities lifted the warning as crews got the upper hand on the blaze Saturday evening.
"Firefighters will remain on scene tonight and through tomorrow, building containment line and cooling hot spots," Cal Fire tweeted Saturday night.
