High Wind Warning Extended For Parts Of San Diego County

The National Weather Service has extended a high wind warning for the county's deserts and mountains.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The National Weather Service has extended a high wind warning for parts of San Diego County.

The warning went into effect at 10 p.m. Monday and was set to expire at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the county's deserts and mountains but has been extended until 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 to 75 mph are expected, according to the NWS.

"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines," forecasters warned. "Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles."
