SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of murder early Monday after allegedly confessing to homicide detectives he stabbed his roommate at a senior living complex in North Park, according to media reports.

At midnight Monday, the suspect walked into his father's bedroom holding two knives and told him he had just killed their other roommate, a man in his 40s, at the Alabama Manor Senior Community complex in the 3800 block of Alabama Street, according to news video service OnScene TV.

The suspect's father called police and his son ran from the residence, the video service said. An officer spotted the suspect running westbound on University Avenue and detained him.
