Hottest Weather Of Year Expected For Inland San Diego County

An excessive heat watch continues for the deserts for Saturday through Monday, the National Weather Service said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Strengthening high pressure over California Thursday was predicted to bring the hottest weather so far this year for inland San Diego County with the heat peaking over the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Along the coast Thursday, it was expected to be mostly sunny with high temperatures from 68 to 72 degrees, the NWS said. The western valleys were expected to be mostly sunny with highs from 74 to 79 and near the foothills from 81 to 86. It should be sunny in the mountains with highs from 81 to 91. The deserts were expected to be sunny with highs from 105 to 108.

The marine layer was expected to become shallower with night and morning coastal low clouds not extending inland past the far western valleys for the weekend into next week.

A weak trough of low pressure was predicted to develop near the California coast next week, bringing a gradual cooling trend.

No hazardous marine weather was expected through Monday.
