The Howell Foundation presents Know Thyself at Menopause and Beyond

Keynote speakers will discuss major, new research findings and provide a new resource mymenoplan.org

The Doris Howell Foundation, dedicated to supporting cutting-edge research to advance women’s health, is presenting Know Thyself at Menopause and Beyond: Knowledge is Power at its Lecture Series Event on Friday, August 5, 2022, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at Morgan Run, 5690 Cancha de Golf, in Rancho Santa Fe. Registration is required by July 29.

In this informative session, keynote speakers Kathryn Macaulay, M.D. and Andrea Z. LaCroix, Ph.D. will discuss major, new research findings, funded over the last 20 years, to improve our knowledge about menopause and how to manage it with a newly created resource called mymenoplan.org.

Kathryn Macaulay, M.D is Director at UCSD Menopause Health Program and Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UC San Diego Health. Dr. Macaulay’s expertise is in caring for peri-menopausal and menopausal women. She treats common symptoms and conditions of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood changes, osteoporosis, and weight gain. She also has extensive experience in hormone therapy.

Andrea Z. LaCroix, PhD is Distinguished Professor of Epidemiology and Director, Women’s Health Center of Excellence at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UCSD. Dr. LaCroix has an extensive research program devoted to studies on factors associated with healthy aging in postmenopausal women. She has conducted numerous randomized clinical trials and observational studies on the prevention of cancer, fracture, heart disease, and frailty in postmenopausal, as well as large, prospective studies of exceptional aging and maintaining function into later life.
