The Doris Howell Foundation, dedicated to supporting cutting-edge research to advance women’s health, is presenting Taking Back the Floor: Understanding Pelvic Floor Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment Options at its Lecture Series Event on Friday, November 15, 2024, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at the La Jolla Country Club, 7301 High Ave, La Jolla. Registration is required by Nov. 11.

In this informative session, guest speaker Dr. Lindsey Burnett will lead an engaging discussion on pelvic floor disorders and explain what they are, how they occur, and explore diagnosis and treatment options.

Lindsey Burnett, MD, Ph.D. is a Reproductive Scientist Development Program Scholar and Assistant Professor in the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at UC San Diego, blending her dual expertise as a scientist and physician. As the Director of the Pelvic Health After Birth program, Dr. Burnett focuses on improving pelvic health during and after pregnancy. Her research spans basic translational and clinical studies aimed at uncovering how pregnancy, delivery, aging, and metabolism contribute to pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, and urinary and fecal incontinence.
