Icy Roads, Weather Force Delays For San Diego Area Schools

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the Office of Education said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Some San Diego area schools were starting later than usual Monday morning due to inclement weather and icy road conditions.

The San Diego County Office of Education announced that schools in Julian Union School District, Julian Union High School District, Mountain Empire Unified School District, Spencer Valley School District and Warner Unified School District will follow late start schedules to ensure safe travel for students and staff.

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," the County Office of Education said in a statement.
