Ike's Love & Sandwiches Opens In Sorrento Valley

SAN DIEGO, CA — Ike's Love & Sandwiches is expanding in San Diego County, with the brand's latest sandwich shop now open in Sorrento Valley.

The new location is the company's fifth store in the San Diego area. There is a sandwich shop in Del Mar as well as stores in the Gaslamp, Midway and University areas of San Diego. More locations are coming soon to La Jolla and Poway, according to the company's website.

"San Diego! You've shown us so much love, so you make it easy to want to open more SD locations," said Ike Shehadeh, founder of Ike's Love & Sandwiches. "I created two new extra special sandwiches just for you. I have a place near Sorrento Valley, and I'm so excited to have a brand-new Ike's to share Love & Sandwiches with you all."

Ike's offers meat lovers, vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free options and combinations. The brand's "Dutch Crunch" bread is paired with Ike's exclusive "Dirty Sauce," a creamy garlic aioli toasted right into the bread.

Ike's in Sorrento Valley will feature two exclusive sandwiches. "Castile" has tuna, Ike's basil pepper pesto, avocado and gouda cheese. "Go Go Goose" is a vegetarian version of "Castile," with mushrooms, avocado, Ike's basil pepper pesto and gouda cheese.

"'The Castile' will make you rethink everything a tuna sandwich can be," CEO Michael Goldberg said.

Ike's first sandwich shop opened in 2007 in San Francisco. The company now has almost 100 eateries, with locations across California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Colorado.

The Sorrento Valley location is at 9430 Scranton Road, Suite 104, in San Diego.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday. The eatery is slated to open at 10 a.m. The first 50 people in line will receive free sandwiches and T-shirts, according to the company. Ike's rewards members can get $6 sandwiches all day long and a chance to meet and take a selfie with Ike.

"Make sure to come out meet Ike and be the first to try our new sandwiches," Goldberg said.
