San Diego Girl Scout Cookie Prices Going Up Due To Inflation, Pandemic
For the first time in eight years, Girl Scouts San Diego will raise the price of all Girl Scout cookies next year.

SAN DIEGO, CA — From rising gas prices to soaring food prices, inflation has surged in San Diego County and across the country. In fact, prices spiked by 9.1 percent in June, compared with a year ago, according to a report released Wednesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Now inflation has impacted the price of Girl Scout cookies in San Diego. For the first time in eight years, Girl Scouts San Diego will raise the price of all Girl Scout cookies next year.
All packages of cookies will cost $6 when the 2023 cookie season starts in January, Girl Scouts San Diego announced Wednesday. The price is going up in an effort to offset the effects the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation has had on funding, according to the organization.

"The shift in cookie package pricing to $6 across the board will support GSSD's pandemic recovery and inflation mitigation efforts, strengthen funding for our many programs that promote the positive development of local girls, and enhance the cookie program experience for girls, families, volunteers, and customers," Dedrich said.
