At Least 1 Killed In La Presa Crash

SPRING VALLEY, CA — At least one person was killed in a crash in the La Presa area of east San Diego County near Spring Valley, authorities said Saturday.

The crash was reported at 10:41 p.m. Friday at Jamacha Boulevard, just east of San Diego Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses reported three vehicles were involved in the crash and one was overturned.

A witness told the CHP a woman was inside the overturned vehicle. The trapped person was freed at 10:58 p.m.

A representative from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office was summoned about 12:20 a.m. Saturday, the CHP state.

Eastbound and westbound lanes of Jamacha Boulevard were shut down for the investigation and cleanup. Westbound lanes were reopened at 2:49 a.m. There was no indication on the log when eastbound lanes were reopened.
