​Man, 81, Hurt In 2-Vehicle Crash In San Diego

An 81-year-old man suffered a collapsed lung and abrasions Thursday when the SUV he was driving was T-boned, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – An 81-year-old man suffered a collapsed lung and abrasions Thursday when the SUV he was driving was T-boned as he pulled out of a driveway in Mission Valley East, police said.

The collision was reported just after 2 p.m. in the 3600 block of Camino Del Rio South, according to San Diego Police Department Officer Robert Heims.

The man was driving his 2005 Toyota 4-Runner, which was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 21-year-old woman, Heims said.

The octogenarian was taken to a hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, Heims said.

The young woman was not hurt.
