Man Arrested In Connection With Threats Mailed Across San Diego County
Investigators linked the suspect to threats mailed to Valhalla High School, a San Diego bank and an El Cajon residence, authorities said.
EL CAJON, CA — A man was arrested after investigators said he mailed threats to an East County high school and other locations in the San Diego area, authorities said Friday.
San Diego County sheriff's detectives and school resource officers began investigating Wednesday after a threat was mailed to Valhalla High School in unincorporated El Cajon. Investigators identified 37-year-old Ray Talia as the suspect and linked him to additional threats mailed to a Chase Bank in San Diego and a private residence in El Cajon, according to the sheriff's Office.
Detectives and deputies with the sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit served a search warrant shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Landis Street in San Diego, where Talia was arrested on suspicion of two counts of making criminal threats.

Detectives also obtained a gun violence restraining order prohibiting Talia from possessing firearms. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
Authorities said there is no current threat to the school or the community.
