Man Found Dead Of Apparent Drug Overdose At East County Motel

A staff member at El Cajon Inn & Suites found the man.

EL CAJON, CA — A guest at an El Cajon motel was found dead of an apparent drug overdose Tuesday in the room where he was staying, authorities reported.

A staff member at El Cajon Inn & Suites at 1368 E. Main St. made the discovery shortly before 11:30 a.m. while checking on the welfare of the 58-year-old man, who had not been seen by motel employees in several days, according to the El Cajon Police Department.

"During the investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found, and it appears the man died of an overdose," ECPD Lt. Jeremiah Larson said.
