Marchand was driving a Bentley Continental in inclement weather when he lost control of the vehicle, CHP Officer Salvador Castro said in a statement.

The county Medical Examiner's Office is conducting toxicological tests to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident, Castro said.

Witnesses said the vehicle was "all over (the) roadway" before overturning, according to the CHP.

Authorities closed the off-ramp for 90 minutes following the accident, the CHP reported.
