Man Killed In RV Park: San Diego Police

The gunman fled but was found in his motorhome at the park, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — One man was killed and another was taken into custody after a fatal shooting Tuesday night at an RV park in San Diego, according to police.

Michael Callahan, 38, of San Diego, was charged with murder and booked into county jail in connection with the death of a 49-year-old man, police said.

Authorities received several calls about a shooting shortly after 10 p.m. at the Campland on the Bay RV resort in the 2200 block of Pacific Beach Drive, according to police. Upon arrival, officers found a man by the pool who had been shot in the chest, police said, adding the victim was taken to a hospital but died about 30 minutes later.

The man had had a brief verbal confrontation with Callahan at the pool, according to police, who said Callahan left and returned to the area with a handgun, shooting the victim. Callahan fled but was found in his motorhome at the park, police said.
