SAN DIEGO, CA — A man convicted of gunning down a homeless man in Linda Vista was sentenced Wednesday to 35 years to life in state prison.
Eduardo Vazquez, 28, was convicted of first-degree murder for the July 24, 2022, killing of 41-year-old Johnny Ramirez. He was found shot in the back just after 5 a.m. in the 2200 block of Ulric Street and died at the scene.
Vazquez and his co-defendant, Arturo Diaz, were not arrested until more than a year after the homicide. Prosecutors allege the defendants were gang members and that Ramirez's killing was gang-motivated.
