Man Shot In Head 6 Times While Driving In San Diego Neighborhood
Sixteen 9mm shell casings were found in the street, police said.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was shot six times in the head while driving in a San Diego neighborhood, authorities said Wednesday.
The shooting happened at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Polk Avenue in the Corridor neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The 32-year-old motorist was traveling eastbound on Polk Avenue when an unknown suspect shot at his vehicle about 16 times, Officer John Buttle said.

"The victim's vehicle was struck approximately nine times and the victim suffered six gunshots to his head," Buttle said.
The man was taken to a hospital, Buttle said. His injuries were considered critical but not life-threatening.

Sixteen 9mm shell casings were found in the street, Buttle said. The suspect was described as wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants.
Detectives were investigating the shooting.
