Man Shot In Leg In Suspected Gang Shooting In San Diego
The victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.
SAN DIEGO, CA – A 52-year-old man was hospitalized Monday but was expected to survive following a possibly gang-related shooting in the Southcrest area, police said.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Gamma Street, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.
The 52-year-old man was running away from a man for unknown reasons near the intersection of 42nd Street and Gamma Street when the suspect caught up to the victim in a courtyard in the area, Buttle said.

"Both the victim and the suspect exchanged words and the suspect shot the victim in the left leg," Buttle said.
The gunman then fled the scene in an unknown direction, Buttle said.

The victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, which was not believed to be life-threatening, Buttle said.
No suspect descriptions were immediately available.
Detectives from the San Diego Police Department's gang unit were investigating the shooting.
