Man Shot In Leg While Walking In San Diego

SAN DIEGO — A 53-year-old man was hospitalized Monday with a gunshot wound to his leg after he was shot near a Core-Columbia intersection, police said.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and B Street, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

Two men were in an argument over a woman when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired two shots, hitting a 53-year-old man once in the leg as he was walking southbound on Sixth Avenue, Buttle said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injury, which was not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.

The suspect was described as a black man, believed to be 23-years-old, and was last seen wearing a black jersey with white letters, tan shorts and a black baseball hat, Buttle said,

Detectives with the San Diego Police Department central division were investigating the shooting.
