Man Walking On Freeway Fatally Struck By SUV In San Diego
The fatal crash happened on northbound Interstate 15, north of Friars Road, according to the CHP.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was hit and killed while walking on a freeway in San Diego, authorities said.
The pedestrian was walking around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the traffic lanes of northbound Interstate 15, north of Friars Road, when he was hit by a Honda Element crossover SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian, a 28-year-old man from San Diego, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Salvador Castro said. The driver of the Honda, a 33-year-old man from Chula Vista, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

A toxicology report was pending through the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office to determine if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash, Castro said.
