On September 18, 2022, the Miramar Young Marines combined forces with the Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas (FORBS) San Diego and the El Cajon Elks Lodge (1812) during a charity fundraiser. FORBS San Diego partners with Breast Cancer Angels during this fundraiser, raising money to purchase Christmas gifts for the children of families experiencing difficulties due to breast cancer.

FORBS San Diego hosts a charity dinner at the El Cajon Elks lodge to support their cause. During the dinner, they hold raffles and sell grab bags to raise funds. The Miramar Young Marines, dressed in their uniforms, wait on the tables, assist the guests, and police the area during and after the event. Tip jars are placed on the tables for guests to show their appreciation for the efforts of the Young Marines. The tips are collected and donated to the Miramar Young Marines.

This type of teamwork, a combined effort of four separate charitable organizations for a common cause, is extremely valuable and highly successful. This event spreads the good name of the Elks within the community, is the largest annual fundraiser for FORBS San Diego, benefits the Breast Cancer Angels, raises needed donations for the Miramar Young Marines, and teaches the Young Marines responsibility, respect, customer service, and a work ethic all while they earn community service hours.

The Miramar Young Marines is proud to partner with such outstanding organizations as these and look forward to future events where we can give back to our communities.
