Mother And Baby Found Safe In San Diego After Being Kidnapped: Sheriff

The mother and 18-month-old girl were rescued from a Quality Suites near the Port of Entry in Otay Mesa, according to reports.

OTAY MESA, CA — An 18-month-old girl and her mother, who were allegedly kidnapped over the weekend, were found safe Monday in Otay Mesa.

Pico Rivera Sheriff deputies said that the 24-year-old Bianca Alvarado's ex-husband, Jason Garcia, grabbed them in Orange County, driving through San Diego, before stopping in at a hotel near the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

While stopped at a 7-Eleven, Alvarado was able to make contact with another patron who called the police.

The mother and child were rescued from a Quality Suites near the Port of Entry in Otay Mesa, according to NBC 7, and Garcia surrendered peacefully.
