Motorcyclist Killed In Pine Valley Crash Identified

PINE VALLEY, CA — A 55-year-old man from South Carolina who was killed in a motorcycle accident last week in Pine Valley was identified Sunday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
The victim was identified as Mitchell Carl Van Linge, a frequent commuter to the San Diego area for business.
The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. last Sunday on southbound Sunrise Highway near mile marker 15, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Van Linge was the driver and solo occupant of a Ducati motorcycle, and for reasons unknown, he lost control of the bike before slamming into a guardrail. He was ejected from the bike and went down an embankment.
People nearby helped him while waiting for medics. He was airlifted to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
