A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday in a collision with a trash truck near Famosa Slough, authorities reported.
SAN DIEGO — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday in a collision with a trash truck near Famosa Slough, authorities reported.
The 23-year-old man was trying to pass the sanitation vehicle in the 4400 block of West Point Loma Boulevard in Point Loma Heights shortly before 2 p.m. when his eastbound Harley-Davidson two-wheeler clipped its front end, according to San Diego police.
The rider tumbled onto the roadway and slid head-first into a metal trash bin, Officer Tony Martinez said.

Medics took the motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of a compound fracture to his left leg and other injuries.
Police closed the eastbound side of the street in the area to allow for investigation and cleanup.
