No One Injured After Shots Fired In Argument In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police Wednesday were searching for whoever fired at least three gunshots, but did not strike anyone, following an argument outside a house in southeast San Diego's Jamacha-Lomita area.

Dispatchers received a call shortly before 7:50 p.m. Tuesday from a person reporting a shooting in the 900 block of Hagmann Court, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

The incident began when residents told the suspect, who was sitting in a silver BMW smoking an unknown substance, to stop smoking in front of their residence.

The residents and the man in the BMW started arguing and one of the residents tore off a license plate from the car, Buttle said.

The suspect then got out of the car and fired three to eight shots, but did not strike anyone, before fleeing in the car.

Police responded to the home and the residents gave officers the license plate, which was registered to a car at a residence on Di Marino Street.

Officers went to the residence, but the suspect was not among the 15 people who were inside the home at the time, Buttle said.

The BMW was located near the residence and impounded, but the car's registered owner was not at the home when officers arrived.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.

Detectives from the San Diego Police Department's southeastern division were investigating the shooting.
