Northbound I-5 Lanes Closed Near Coronado Bridge
BREAKING: Caltrans San Diego said the closed section of the highway is south of Imperial Avenue. The closure is due to police activity.

Update: The police incident is still active at I-5 and Commercial. The Coronado Bridge is open but slow eastbound due to northbound lane closures on I-5, according to an advisory issued just after 5 p.m. Wednesday by the Coronado Police Department.
SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol late Wednesday afternoon closed all northbound lanes on Interstate 5 south of Commercial due to police activity.
In a social media post after 3 p.m., Caltrans said the closed section of the highway was south of Imperial Avenue.

Due to the closure, the city of Coronado said eastbound traffic on the Coronado Bridge was heavily backed up.

Due to police activity on the I-5 northbound at Commercial street, the Coronado bridge is experiencing a heavy backup going eastbound.
