Over $160K In Scholarships Available For San Diego, Riverside Students Through Cal Coast Cares Foundation

SAN DIEGO, CA — The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is accepting applications for more than $160,000 in college scholarships for students in San Diego and Riverside counties.

The nonprofit foundation will award scholarships of up to $2,000 to eligible college students, graduating high school seniors, and current or former foster youth who demonstrate academic achievement and community leadership. Foster students who receive a first-year scholarship will also be eligible for second-year scholarships if they continue to meet program requirements.

"These scholarships open doors for students who are working hard to achieve their dreams, often while overcoming significant challenges," Cal Coast Cares Foundation Manager Penney Newell said in a statement.

"By easing the financial burden of higher education, we hope to empower local students to focus on their studies, leadership, and service to others," Newell said. "This work is made possible through the charitable contributions of generous individuals, businesses, and community partners who share in our mission to uplift students and support educators."

The application period runs through March 20.
