Padres To Honor Late Owner With Celebration Of Life, Legacy Fund
The life and legacy of Peter Seidler will be honored throughout the 2024 baseball season and beyond, the team announced.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The life and legacy of Peter Seidler, the late owner of the San Diego Padres, will be honored throughout the 2024 baseball season and beyond, the team announced Monday.
The Padres will wear a patch on their jerseys during the 2024 season to honor Seidler, who died Nov. 14. The patch design and location will be unveiled before the beginning of spring training, according to the team.
Petco Park will host a public celebration of life for Seidler during the weekend of March 22, 2024. The event will give fans an opportunity to pay their respects to the late Padres chairman and owner. Event details will be announced at a later date.

In addition to the jersey patch and celebration of life, the Padres Foundation will launch the Peter Seidler Legacy Fund to raise funds for charitable projects that align with Seidler's passion and devotion to the betterment of the city, according to the team.
Ahead of Giving Tuesday, the team announced that all donations up to $1 million will be matched by the Padres Foundation, Padres players, Padres ownership, and the Seidler family. As a result, each dollar raised will yield $5 to support projects in underserved communities in San Diego and northern Baja.
