Padres Promote Executive VP to COO
Erik Greupner helps fill the void created after the departure of former CEO Mike Dee.

SAN DIEGO -- The remaking of the Padres front office continued N0v. 7 with the promotion of Erik Greupner to chief operating officer.
Greupner had led the business side of the team's operations, and most recently had the title of executive vice president, business administration and general counsel.
"Erik has made significant contributions to the Padres over the last six years,'' said Ron Fowler, the Padres' executive chairman.

"The organization has benefited from his intelligence and sound judgment, and we are pleased to announce his well-deserved promotion.''
Before joining the Padres, he was an attorney with the firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and held sales management roles with Goldman Sachs and Scudder Weisel Capital LLC.
