Passenger Ejected From Truck In Deadly Rollover Crash In San Pasqual​

The truck went down a 50-foot embankment into a citrus orchard, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The passenger of a truck was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday night in the San Pasqual neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.

The crash happened at 11:19 p.m. at 18188 San Pasqual Valley Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.

A 25-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when the truck failed to maintain the curvature of the road, crossed over the double yellow painted lines, and went down a 50-foot embankment into a citrus orchard, Officer David O'Brien said.

The 47-year-old male passenger was ejected during the rollover crash and pronounced dead at the scene, O'Brien said. The driver was airlifted to a hospital. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

The crash was under investigation.
