Passenger Killed In Suspected DUI, Hit-And-Run Crash In North County
The driver will be booked on felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and DUI-related charges, Sgt. Jeremy Collis said.
DEL MAR, CA — A woman is facing felony charges following a deadly hit-and-run crash in San Diego's North County, authorities said.
A 2019 Maserati GranTurismo crashed into a tree and a parked Dodge Ram shortly before midnight Tuesday in the 2000 block of Coast Boulevard in Del Mar, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies found a 62-year-old man in the passenger seat of the Maserati, Sgt. Jeremy Collis said. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

No one was inside the Dodge at the time of the crash.
"During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned the Maserati was driving north on Coast Boulevard when it left the road, struck a parked car and collided with a tree," Collis said. "The driver left the scene and was later arrested."

The driver of the Maserati, Elizabeth Brooks-Fratus, 52, was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash, Collis said.
She will be booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee on felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and DUI-related charges, he said.
