Patchy Drizzle With Widespread Low Clouds Possible In San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — Early Wednesday morning, the marine layer was around 3,000 feet deep with satellite imagery showing widespread low clouds over the coastal waters and valleys of San Diego County, the National Weather Service said.

There could be some patchy drizzle early Wednesday morning, the NWS said. The chances for measurable precipitation Wednesday morning were highest for the coast into the valleys, though still low at less than 10%. Chances were greater for Wednesday night into early Thursday along the coast and extending inland into the western valleys with much lower chances for Thursday night into Friday morning.

Along the coast Wednesday, it was expected to be partly cloudy with high temperatures from 68 to 72, the NWS said. The valleys were expected to be mostly sunny with highs from 72 to 77.

Mountains may be mostly sunny with highs from 71 to 81. The deserts were expected to be sunny with highs from 96 to 99.

The warming trend was predicted to continue into Saturday, with high temperatures for some coastal areas and portions of the lower deserts slightly above average and the mountains and inland valleys still around 5 degrees below average, forecasters said.

For the middle and latter part of next week, high pressure centered over northern Mexico could begin to strengthen and expand.
