Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car On I-8 In Mission Valley
A car struck and killed a woman as she was walking on Interstate 8 in Mission Valley, authorities reported.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A car struck and killed a woman Thursday as she was walking on Interstate 8 in Mission Valley, authorities reported.
The Subaru sedan hit the pedestrian on the eastbound side of the freeway near Presidio Park shortly before 12:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Her name was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old San Diego man, was treated for minor injuries, CHP public-affairs Officer Jesse Matias said.

The pedestrian fatality was one of two to occur on a San Diego freeway over a period of less than six hours. At about 6 a.m., an SUV struck and killed a 23-year-old man on northbound Interstate 5 near West Hawthorn Street, just north of downtown San Diego, the CHP reported.
Late Wednesday morning, yet another pedestrian, described only as male, was fatally injured when a car struck him on state Route 94 near 25th Street in the Golden Hill area, according to the Highway Patrol.
