Pedestrian Fatally Struck by San Diego Trolley Early Thursday
One person died in the Thursday incident, which occurred in the city's San Ysidro district.

SAN DIEGO - A pedestrian was fatally struck by a trolley early Thursday in the city's San Ysidro district.
The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. on the tracks in the vicinity of Beyer Boulevard and Dairy Mart Road, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said. It was not immediately clear why the victim was on the tracks.
The accident caused a 20-minute UC San Diego blue line trolley delay near the Iris Avenue station, according to the Metropolitan Transit System.
