SAN DIEGO, CA — An Amtrak train fatally struck a pedestrian Sunday evening in San Diego, authorities said Monday.

The crash happened shortly before 5:45 p.m. on the tracks that cross Washington Street, according to San Diego County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason King.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, King said. No details about the victim were released.
