SAN DIEGO — An SUV struck and gravely injured a 78-year-old woman Thursday in a commercial driveway Clairemont.
The driver of the 2014 Toyota Rav4 was pulling out of a gas station parking lot in the 5400 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard when her vehicle hit the pedestrian shortly before 2 p.m., according to San Diego police.
Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, Officer Robert Heims said.

It was unclear whether the 49-year-old motorist might face charges over the accident.
