Person Falls To Death At UCSD's Geisel Library

The university said the death posed no threat to the campus community.

SAN DIEGO, CA — UCSD's Geisel Library reopened Thursday after an unidentified person, not believed to be a UCSD student, fell to their death from the eighth-floor stairwell of the library Wednesday, the Triton campus paper reported.

The fall happened at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Triton, and campus police and library workers closed the library and evacuated patrons outside.

The university said the death posed no threat to the campus community.

UCSD's Counseling and Psychological Services office was accepting walk-in appointments in light of the death, the campus newspaper reported.
