Police Arrest Stabbing Suspect In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 40-year-old man is in custody Tuesday in connection with a stabbing during a physical altercation that left another man hospitalized in the Mira Mesa neighborhood of San Diego.

Jonathan Boaz was arrested at the scene of the stabbing, 9669 Gold Coast Drive, for assault with a deadly weapon, said Officer David O'Brien of the San Diego Police Department.

Officers were called at 8:40 p.m. Monday to the apartment regarding a fight between the suspect and the victim where they learned the suspect stabbed the victim once in the upper abdomen, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect, Boaz, remained at the scene and surrendered to officers, O'Brien said.

Detectives from the department's Northeastern Division are handling the investigation and anyone with information related to it was asked to call 858- 538-8028 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
