Police Investigate 'Suspicious' Death Of Woman In San Diego Apartment

Detectives are working with the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause and manner of death.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman was found dead inside her apartment, and police are investigating the case as a suspicious death.

Officers responded around 8:50 a.m. Thursday to a report of a deceased woman inside her apartment in the 6300 block of Imperial Avenue in the O'Farrell neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The decedent, believed to be a Latin woman in her 60s, had injuries and was found in a position that prompted officers to classify the death as suspicious, police said.

The department's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation out of an abundance of caution. Detectives are working with the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
