Police Seek Group Who Carjacked Man At Mission Valley Target

A group of men stole a man's vehicle Monday morning in the parking lot of a Target store in the Mission Valley area, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A group of men stole a man's vehicle Monday morning in the parking lot of a Target store in the Mission Valley area before officers located the unoccupied vehicle a few blocks away, police said.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Target at the Westfield Mission Valley mall, 1288 Camino Del Rio North, according to San Diego police.

A man was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot when he got into an argument with a group of five men, Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The driver got into his car, but one of the men attempted to open a passenger door so the driver got out to confront the group again and a fight ensued, the officer said.

The group then hopped into the victim's car and sped off before officers located the unoccupied vehicle a few blocks away, Delimitros said, adding that the victim did not have to be taken to a hospital.
