Puppies Found In San Diego Dumpster

County Animal Services is seeking information on the owner of the abandoned puppies or the identity of the person who committed the crime. ​

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two puppies were found in a dumpster in San Diego, and now the county is searching for the person who abandoned the pair.

The pups were saved Tuesday after a man found the pair inside a box while throwing out trash from a business on Adrian Street in the Midway area of the city.

County Animal Services is seeking information on the owner of the abandoned puppies or the identity of the person who committed the crime.

"For someone to just throw away these two defenseless pups in such a callous manner and an almost certain death is unconscionable," said County Animal Services Director Dan DeSousa. "Someone needs to come forward with information so we can hold whoever did this cruel act accountable."

A local rescue group is caring for the puppies, according to County Animal Services. The male and female dogs, believed to be King Charles spaniels, are about 12 days old.

The rescue group plans to put the puppies up for adoption once they are old enough.
