Resident Held At Knifepoint In San Diego Home Invasion

A resident was held at knifepoint when two robbery suspects forced their way into a San Diego home, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO – A resident was held at knifepoint Wednesday in the O'Farrell neighborhood when two robbery suspects forced their way into the residence, authorities said.

The two suspects entered the residence at 6400 Pittsburgh Ave. around 12 a.m. One of the suspects held a knife to the victim's throat, San Diego Police Sgt. Joe Ruvido said in a statement. The second suspect told the other two roommates at the residence that he had a gun while he held his hand behind his back. No gun was seen, police reported.

One of the residents then chased both suspects out of the home with a knife. A third suspect was waiting outside the residence in a vehicle.

Officers arrived to the scene and were able to detain and arrest all three suspects, who were identified as Hispanic adult males in their early 20's, Ruvido said.

One victims sustained a contusion to the back of the head. No property was stolen from the residence.

The San Diego Police Robbery Unit was notified and responded.
