San Diego Area Lifestyle Among The Most Enviable, Survey Finds

SAN DIEGO, CA — It should come as no surprise that two beautiful and wealthy San Diego communities boast some of the most enviable lifestyles in America, according to a newly released survey.

La Jolla ranked 64th and Rancho Santa Fe ranked 67th in a list of 175 communities with the most enviable lifestyles, according to the survey by the moving industry analysts at Moving Feedback.

La Jolla is known for its ocean bluffs and beaches, while Rancho Santa Fe is known for its expansive mansions. Both have some of the most luxurious and priciest homes in the nation.

Eleven California communities made the ranking. The Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas topped the list as the most enviable in the nation, according to the survey of 3,000 Americans.

In a post-pandemic-era shift, the suburbs are knocking metropolitan areas such as New York City, San Francisco and Miami from their perches as having the most enviable lifestyles for residents. Now, people appear to be pining for large digs close to nature with low crime rates, good schools and luxury amenities.

These are the 11 California towns that made the list:

• No. 27: Rancho Palos Verdes
• No. 45: Atherton
• No. 64: La Jolla
• No. 67: Rancho Santa Fe

• No. 71: Pal Alto
• No. 97: Saratoga

Factors that appeared to sway survey participants included real estate value, safety, quality of infrastructure, and proximity to nature and financial opportunities.
