San Diego County Fair Announces 2024 Dates, 'Let's Go Retro' Theme

SAN DIEGO, CA — Relive the best of the past next summer at the 2024 San Diego County Fair.

The 22nd District Agricultural Association, which manages and operates the Del Mar Fairgrounds, announced this week that next year's fair will take place June 12 through July 7 with the theme "Let's Go Retro."

With a nod to nostalgia and a focus on fun, "Let's Go Retro" will give yesteryears another moment in the San Diego sun. Every generation will be able to enjoy the best of what is while reviving the best of what was at the fair.

Fairgoers will relive pop culture's best in art, fashion, media, music and more through an arcade mania, diner delights, fashion flashback and musical time warp. Of course, there will also be agriculture, animals, art, exhibits, food, live entertainment, music and rides.

"After a safe, fun, educational, and successful 2023 San Diego County Fair, we are thrilled to start looking ahead to a year that we will spend looking back — as well as imagining what will be considered 'retro' in the future," said Carlene Moore, CEO of the 22nd District Agricultural Association.

"This theme is especially appropriate for our fair," Moore added. "Through all the decades that we will explore in 2024, the San Diego County Fair served as a gathering place for our diverse communities. The fair remains a vital community asset today — a treasured event that brings people together, teaches them about the world around us, and celebrates fun and tradition."

The 2024 fair will open June 12 and run through July 7. The fair will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Admission and ticketed concerts and festivals will go on sale in the months leading up to next year's fair.
