San Diego County Property Tax Deadline Fast Approaching
San Diego property owners have until April 10 to pay the second installment of their property taxes before they are considered delinquent.
SAN DIEGO, CA — County officials are reminding residents that the deadline to pay the second installment of property taxes is fast approaching.
San Diego property owners have until April 10 to pay the second installment of their property taxes before they are considered delinquent and incur additional charges, according to the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office.
"I am urging San Diego property owners who haven't yet paid their property taxes to avoid penalties by paying before April 10, 2025," San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister said. "The easiest, quickest, and most secure way to pay is online at sdttc.com. I encourage every homeowner to save themselves the trip to a branch, or save the stamp needed to mail it, and pay easily online at sdttc.com."

The first property tax installment was due on Nov. 1, 2024. The second installment was due Feb. 1, 2025, and becomes delinquent after April 10, 2025.
Property tax payments are expected to generate $9.1 billion dollars for the region, which is a new record, according to the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office. All 1,018,103 secured tax bills are available at sdttc.com to view and pay.

Property owners can pay online using an e-check. Taxpayers will get an immediate, emailed receipt for payment confirmation if they use the online payment system at sdttc.com.
"So far, 63.5% of taxpayers have paid over $5.8 billion in secured property taxes," McAllister said. "To avoid the 10% penalty plus $10 fee we encourage property owners to go online and pay their second installment before the April 10th deadline."
Property owners can find their tax bill information online or call the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office at 877-829-4732.
