San Diego County Reveals Most Popular Baby Names In 2025

Roughly 40,000 babies are born each year in the county, which has a population of about 3.3 million residents.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Searching for a baby name? Check out San Diego County's top picks from 2025.

Noah and Emma were the two most popular names for babies born last year in the county, the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk's Office revealed Monday.

After Noah, the most common names for boys in 2025 were Santiago, Liam, Mateo, Sebastian, Luca, Julian, Oliver, Theodore and Elias. Following Emma, the most common names for girls in 2025 were Sophia, Mia, Olivia, Isabella, Camila, Charlotte, Amelia, Sofia and Valentina.

"The list reflects both enduring favorites and the county's rich cultural diversity," said Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Jordan Z. Marks. "From timeless classics to names inspired by heritage and global influence, these trends offer a unique snapshot of our community."

Roughly 40,000 babies are born each year in the county, which has a population of about 3.3 million residents. The total number of births averaged 43,839 between 1990 and 2024, according to the latest published data.

The county's ARCC office issues marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, as well as registers business names and records all legal real estate documents.
