LOCATION:       1100 Block of Delpy View Point, Vista

DECEASED:        Shannon Betz, 52-years-old

SUSPECT:           Unidentified       

On August 8, 2021, at about 9:15 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to the 1100 block of Delpy View Point in Vista for a male who was found deceased inside his residence by his roommate. When deputies arrived, they located the male deceased with a gunshot wound to his head.     

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility of the investigation.

On August 10, 2021, the Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy and has identified the victim as fifty-two-year-old Shannon Betz. The victim's family has been notified of his death. The preliminary cause of death was gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is homicide.
